{"id":1182,"date":"2026-01-19T18:43:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T18:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cleethorpescameraclub.co.uk\/?p=1182"},"modified":"2026-01-25T17:25:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-25T17:25:13","slug":"av-competition-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cleethorpescameraclub.co.uk\/?p=1182","title":{"rendered":"AV Competition Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Rules and Conditions of Entry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Competition is for digital sequences only designed to run as a\u00a0<strong>.exe<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>.mp4<\/strong>\u00a0file, using a single screen and with a soundtrack.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sections<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entries should be of either of the following definitions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Narrative<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A story or account of events, experiences, whether true or fictitious.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There should be a clear commentary either written or spoken which should complement the images.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sequences should have a beginning, a middle and an end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any music should be appropriate and complement the story and images.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Video clips, taken by the photographer, may be included but must not exceed 10% of the running time of the sequence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sequences the maximum duration must not exceed\u00a0<strong>10<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Music, Song, and Poetry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For music the main feature of sequences should be the relationship between the music and the images and how they interact with one another.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Illustration of songs and poetry may be creative or strongly representable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Written words can be used, where appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>No video should be included.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sequences the maximum duration\u00a0must not exceed\u00a0<strong>6<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An entrant may enter up to Two sequences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are no restrictions on the subject entered but all contents must be for family viewing.\u00a0 The competition organiser has the right to reject any sequence that they consider undesirable, unsuitable or incorrectly programmed for competition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Images should be cropped to a final size of not less than\u00a0<strong>1600 x 1200<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>1920 x1080<\/strong>\u00a0pixels (depending on aspect ratio). Entries created at less than 1600\u00a0x 1200\u00a0can be entered but will show smaller on the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sequences must be in\u00a0<strong>.mp4<\/strong>\u00a0format or\u00a0<strong>.exe<\/strong>\u00a0and must be programmed with \u201cno run\u201d box. Shows produced in Pro Show Gold or Producer must not include a menu or Pro Show start up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>At least 75%<\/strong>\u00a0of the images in each sequence must have been taken by the photographer and any post-processing undertaken must be by the photographer. The author must confirm to the organisers that they have the legal right to use any third-party images and that they will indemnify the organisers against any action taken by the owners of any copyright.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The sequences must not have been entered into a Cleethorpes Camera Club AV Competition before.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Copyright<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In accordance with the established copyright regulations, sequences presented at this competition should be free of all rights of ownership, artistic or otherwise, which others may hold.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By participating in the competition authors of audio-visual sequences indemnify the organisers against all and any action which may be taken against them by owners of copyrights\u00a0<em>including copyright music<\/em>.
